Pires Living The Dream

Pires Living The Dream

As a young boy Robert Pires was the same as all other football crazy kids, and wanted to play in the biggest and best football competitions in the world, and against the biggest teams.

Unlike most, Bobby will, at last, get to live out his childhood fantasy, when he takes to the Bernabeu pitch to enter battle against Real Madrid in the knockout phase of the Champion's League.

Speaking to AFP, Pires told his story,

'To play against Real Madrid is the pinnacle for a professional,''

''When I was a boy it was my dream to play at the Bernabeu but I have had to wait 32 years.

''But now I will saviour it. In my youth I loved Michel because of his elegance and I tried to imitate it.

''I said to myself that one day I would be his replacement and I wanted them to nickname me 'Michel'.

''The chance is now there for us to show we are still a great team and it should be a fantastic match.''

Lets hope we can all live out our dreams through Bobby when he scores the winner.
