More Bad News For Clichy

Gael Clichy has been ruled out till the end of April, in what is more dissapointing news for the Frenchman.

Gael suffer the exact same injury as Ashley Cole whilst playing for the French Under 19's against England at White Hart Lane last year.

Clichy was thought to be only a couple of weeks away from a return to action when he suffered a setback in training.

Wenger confirmed,

“Gael has had a setback, it was very bad for us and very discouraging for him. At the moment he is a bit down in morale, a bit low. I am as well for him because I expected him to be back very, very soon.”

However, some news agencies have reported that Clichy career maybe over, although Wenger says this is somewhat wide of the mark.

“It looks like it will be three to four weeks at the moment, it is exaggerated to say he won't play again this season but certainly not before April.”

We could really do with Clichy back right now, Flamini is playing very well considering he's out of position, but we need someone who can defend and link up with Reyes at the same time. We are badly missing our crisp wing play this season.
