New Deal For Mad Jens

Arsenal fans favorite, Jens Lehmann, has be offered a new deal to keep him at Arsenal for another season.

'Mad Jens' as he is affectionally known amongst the Highbury faithful, has been offered this new deal after outstanding performances this season, that has seen him become arguably the best keeper in the Premiership.

Lehmann is keen to sign on the dotted line as he, along with millions of others, loves the club.

'I love it here and it would be good to stay - not just for me and my wife - but for my sons too as their education is going well. They have both said they would like to remain in England for another year or so.'

Arsene Wenger is just as keen to keep hold of the German Number 1.

'We are close to agreement about another year's contract. It has been his best year for us, even better than the season we went unbeaten,' said Wenger.

Lehmann and his antics has won him a place in the heart of almost every Gooner.

Along with Kolo, Jens has been our best player this season. He hasn't been at fault for any of our goals, and without him, the situation we find ourselves in could be a whole lot worse. Give him 2 more years if you ask me.

Remember 1 year extension is the policy but I also agree that he has been outstanding this season.

He has been in great form this year, but I am always waiting for him to go to the funny farm mid game. I think we can do better. Shay Given in the summer.
