Becks Backs Henry Stay

England captain, David Beckham, think's Henry will sign a new deal with the Gunners, and finish his career at Arsenal.

Arsenal beat Beckham's Madrid at the Bernabeau last Tuesday, with Henry scoring the winner. Beckham now believe's his friend will stay with the Gunners.

'Arsenal have proved they have what it takes to keep Thierry. They are a team to match his calibre as a player,' Beckham said.

'Not one player surprised me in the Arsenal team as I've seen them all before. I watch the English game but I believe Thierry is a phenomenal player.'

Barcelona are the team tipped to take Henry away from us, but Beck's really wouldn't relish that prospect.

'Of course I don't want Thierry to sign for Barcelona. As a friend I'd like him to come here. But I know he is happy in London with Arsenal,' added Beckham.

'He wants to stay at Highbury and when he's performing like that who can blame the fans, manager and the rest of the team for wanting to keep him.'

I afraid I'm going to have to agree with you. It looks like us Gooners are going to be taking a lot of stick for the next 12 months.

It's good to see that David Beckham has enough time to try and meddle in other club's affairs. The sooner he retires, the better!
