Djourou Favours Switzerland

Young Arsenal defender, Johan Djourou, has pledged his alligence to the Swiss national team, rather than the team of his place of birth, the Ivory Coast.

Djourou's future has been set by his call up to the Swiss squad who face Scotland at Hampden Park .

The 19 year old is chomping at the bit to impress his new coach.

'When Mr Kuhn rang me, I was so excited. I did not expect to play in the first team.

'I want to show my qualities against Scotland as best as possible.'

Djourou has played extremely well when asked to deputise for the endless list of injuries suffer at Arsenal this season.

Excellent young player, Wenger hushed his arrival a couple of years ago to ward off any would-be attempts to poach him away. Now I see why, the kid will be awesome in years to come.

IMHO he's a better CB than Senderos and seems far more assured and the games he has had to play have only helped in and he could be a great player in the future

He certainly looks more solid and confident on the ball than Senderos. You really have to give AW and his scouts credit for being able to identify young talents.
