'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cole: Main Concern Is Arsenal

Crocked Arsenal star, Ashley Cole, says football with Arsenal is his main concern

Cole admitted the World's premier tournament is on his mind, but he needs to get back playing for his club before he can think about his country.

'The World Cup is in the back of my mind,'

'But my main concern is getting back for Arsenal. I've got to be playing for Arsenal before I can get back in contention for England.'

Of course his statement could just be a means to an end for the leftback, knowing without club football he won't make the world cup.

Selfish? possibly. Vital for the Gunners? most definately.

He may be the best LB in the country or even the world but if he can't get rid of his injury real quick, someone else is going to take his place. For them to shine in the world cup also allow them to market themselves to the world and entice football clubs to bid for their services with huge pay rises. Selfish, definitely. Deep down we all sincerely hope that he will stay with Arsenal.

I don't think its selfish, he just wants to get back to what he loves, playing football, and also to hopefully get a medal for England!!

Let's all hope so as I don't really want to endure another summer of those never ending saga of going or not going. We need a settled squad of refreshed players getting ready for the new season. Mind you, we still need them big time for the remaining games of this season before they go for the world cup.
