Walcott Off To Scoring Start

Arsenal starlet, Theo Walcott, got his England Under 19's career off to a flyer, by finding the net on his debut.

The under 19's fought their way to a 3-1 victory against Slovakia at Sixfields stadium on Tuesday night.

Walcott's goal came from the spot after he, himself had been brought down. The keeper saved his first effort before the ref ordered a retake after encroachment. Walcott took his second bite of the cherry and slotted home 10 minutes from time.

England coach, Martin Hunter, praised Theo after the game.

'Walcott played very well and could have had a couple more but for some terrific goalkeeping,' Hunter said after the game. 'With his pace and ability he'll only get better and better.

'Playing in games like tonight is part and parcel of his development, we asked him to play a little differently and he adapted well.'

hmmmm i dont know (now im not slagging him off) but how can a 16 yr old be worth 16 mill when his career is 40 games Most Sub appearences. yes he is fast and scores goals but so are most goal scorers?

You're just bitter pompeyboy :-) Although I do tend to agree he may have been a little over-priced. Time will tell on that one though.
Adie
why would i be bitter sinats lost there 'prize asset' im just reviewing what chance i think he will have
pompeyboy
Bottomline is that if Theo had not chosen Arsenal, he would have probably end up in Chelsea in an even bigger deal as they have already decalred upfront they will match whatever bids that have gone in.
HK_Gunner
he should be loaned out to like leeds or someone like that to get experiance
