Pires Set To Leave??

Could Robert Pires be set to leave the Arsenal?

As reported yesterday, Arsene Wenger will remain faithful to his 'one year for the over thirties' policy.

Reports in today press say that Pires is also standing by his guns and would rather try and change Wenger's mind by his performances on the pitch.

So would we Bob.

Pires said, 'It is difficult. But I don't want to get into the Dennis Bergkamp formula of having to sign a new contract every summer,' insisted Pires.

'I have to convince Arsene Wenger that I can still perform at this level. I will try to convince him and it is not easy.'

Thoses quotes however, look highly familiar, and could very well be the ones made earlier in the season and have just been dredged up to make some kind of story.

Watch this space.

Bobby did his best to fill all Gooner hearts with joy with an audacious attempt from 50 yards......just a little bit harder and we would have all been going wild. As it happens, we did anyway!!

I don't think it would be disasterous if Bobby left. He's been a shadow of the man he was 2 years ago, and with Reyes, Smith and Walcott coming through the ranks, I think he might see this as a chance to leave with dignity.
