More Worried By Bolton Than Spurs

Arsenal's on going battle with Tottenham for 4th place has attracted all the attention, but after Bolton's 4-1 'hammer'ing of West Ham today, we need to be aware of where our biggest threat lies.

Fat Sam's team moved 1 point above the Arsenal today, but all those thinking if we beat Liverpool tomorrow everything will be fine and dandy, I urge you to take a closer look.

After tomorrow's game, win or lose, Bolton will have two games in hand, with the possibility of not only moving above us and Blackburn, but the wavering Tottenham, who lost to a last minute goal at Stamford Bridge. Shame that.

Allardyce has had Bolton fighting there or there abouts for a couple of seasons now and has proved that they are no one season wonders, the only plus side of this situation is that they face a quartet of matches coming up comprising of Boro, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd, although it'd wouldn't suprise me to see them coming out of that run smelling of roses either.

The only thing Bolton and Arsenal will be contesting is who can fall over the most.

i think that boltons next few matches will slow them down and the gunners will go from strength to strength after there victory over madrid and will defenetely be main contenders to the scum from down the road for 4th place

I disagree, unfortunately for Arsenal I think Tottenham are going to get fourth, with Bolton getting 5th and Arsenal scrapping it to get 6th. It wouldn't be so bad but for going out of the Champions League against Juventus. Oh well swings and roundabouts, Henry might get top scorer in the UEFA cup! At least you will have done a bit better in the Champ League anyway!

Yes, Bolton are Arsenal's main threat for one of the 2 UEFA Cup places. Good guess. And say Adios to Henry when he leaves for Barcelona

Well if you get your arithmetic right and with Bolton winning all the remaining games, the best that you spuds can hope for is the UEFA places.

Tottenham waivering form - yes, we lost to the Champions who are about 15 points clear of their nearest rivals by a wonder goal. Hardly waivering ... I'm sure we'll do much better when we visit an underachieving Gooner team at the Library....

I like the way you only have to mention Spurs in the article title and they come in their thousands. :)

HK_Gunner... if you check the fixtures/table. bolton can go 2 pts above us by winning their 2 games in hand... but we still have to play them at home. so it's in tottenham's hands.

Totally agree. My assumption was if Bolton win all the games then spurs won't get the 4th place even if you won all your games except the one against Bolton.

I think we should be aiming for 3rd. We have the ability to win all our remaining games, the question is whether we have the confidence. There's no point looking over our shoulders at Bolton - all we can do is get our heads down and win the games. I'm not writing Spurs off, but we really should be able to finish above them.

Pass and Move, if we beat you at Highbury we go above you so it's still in OUR hands. It close, it's exciting, it's "up for grabs"

if we do lose to you, depending on the points situation, Bolton will probably be getting 3 points the week after!

Arsenal, one of the youngest teams? I know most of your oldies have been out a lot, but still not that much. It's Tottenham I believe that have the youngest team out in the Premiership most of this season so don't use that as an excuse. Thats ours for not being up in second this year.

You reckon Spurs will throw the game at Bolton if we beat you at Highbury? I very much doubt that. I think Martin Jol and the players have more ambition than yourself spursstriker.

Oh dear Mr Mustchin, perhaps you should think before you open your mouth as this is not the only idiotic statement you've come out with.
