'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rafa Believes

Raffa the Gaffa believes Arsenal can emulate the great feat his Champions League winning side of 2005.

Arsenal knocked Real Madrid out of the competition wth a 1-0 aggregate win, only to be paired with Patrick Vieira's Juventus in the quarter finals.

I, and most Gooners who can be brutally honest with themselves, know that we face a mammoth task to bring home Old Big Ears, and while it's not completely impossible, it's going to be incredibly difficult.

However we have being receiving support from all corners, the latest of which is the Liverpool manager.

Benitez said: “Arsenal will believe they can win the Champions League because they have the confidence now. They know how important it is and have a good chance as they have good players.

“I've always said they have some good young players but they have a good mix with the experience of people like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Freddie Ljungberg and Robert Pires.

“They have enough quality and I am sure they also have enough confidence as well, especially after beating Real Madrid.”

But Benitez added: “Maybe, for Arsenal, the Champions League will take more importance now. It will be difficult for them to finish second.

“We are 11 points ahead of them in third and Manchester United are another two points ahead.”

You're not 11 points ahead any more Mr Benitez. We should be aiming for 3rd spot, not 4th.

If their problem in getting their strikers to score more goals cannot be resolved quickly, there is very possibility that they will not hold onto 3rd spot.
