'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pires Needs Assurance's

Robert Pires says he needs assurance's from the gaffer that he'll get first team action next season, before he agree's to a one year extension.

As reported by Vital Arsenal, Arsene Wenger will not budge on his 'one year contracts for the over 30's' policy, but Bobby however, has shown his is willing to commit to the club, but only if he gets to play.

'The most important thing in the negotiations will be the amount of time I am allowed to play,' said Pires.

'What I want to do is play.

'I've had other offers and I still have to make a decision.

'I want to stay - I am happy at the club. It is not an easy choice.'

No Manager can give assurances on playing all the time....if the form dips so does the player. They don't like sitting on benches but that is part of the game and the strategy.

Barcelona winger Ludovic Giuly insists he knows where Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will be playing his football next season. The French striker is reported to have come to terms with a move to Barcelona after not agreeing to sign a new contract at the gunners. Giuly said: “I have a lot information. I know everything about Henry, but I cannot talk about it if he does not want to do so, himself.” He added: “Henry is a great player and he does not have the same profile as I. I know him, and normally he is calm and he likes to laugh a lot, like a me. “I do not know how he will react to the press here, because there are a lot more here and many stories can emerge.”

What has that got to do with Pires?? Please post your comments on the appropriate articles.

Well, adding some French logic to the situation, if Henry decides to move on, then Arsene may do something he has been loathe to in the past, or Pires will definitely move on.

Pires had a great year last year but this year he has been dire in comparison, his time to move is now, he has served the club and will embarrass his reputation if he stays on and has as shocking a season as he has this year
