Cesc Wants Vieira Welcome

Cesc Fabregas has urged the Highbury faithful to give Vieira the welcome he deserves.

Vieira spent 9 glorious with Arsenal winning many trophies, and Fabregas believes the former Gooner's welcome home will be 'a great feeling for him'.

“I don’t think a lot of players have done what he has done for this Club. I am sure he will have a great reception from the fans here.

“It is quite exciting. He is coming back to a club he will always love. He spent nine years here with these fans and, of course, it will be a great feeling for him.

“He has been a big inspiration for me. He came here when he was 20 and he got the same sort of confidence from the manager. Of course we are not the same type of player but it is always interesting to see what he has done and see if you can do the same. He has won so many things, not just with Arsenal but with France. It is always interesting to look at his statistics, especially for the youngsters.”

Cesc is looking to forward to the challenge of facing his former mentor.

“You always want to be like him but you have to live in the present,” he said. “For me it will be a big challenge because he is, I don’t like to say the best midfielder in the world, but he is one of them. Of course for me and Gilberto it will be difficult but it will be interesting as well.”

Cesc looks more and more like the real deal ever time I see him. He has an unvelievable head on his shoulders, and an even more impressive footballing brain, and to think he didn't cost us a penny.
