Wenger Tried For Thuram Coup

Wenger Tried For Thuram Coup

The day before Arsenal take on Juventus in the Champion's League, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he tried to sign Juve defender, Lillian Thuram on many ocassions.

Wenger thinks Thuram has all the qualities needed to be a star in the Premiership, and that if he'd have had the cash, he'd have bought without thought.

Wenger said, 'Thuram is the rock at the heart of the Juventus defence.'

“He is a very strong boy mentally. He is highly focused and will never give up.

'He had the typical mentality to play in England. I tried to buy him many times but he was always too expensive.”

As with Thierry Henry, Thuram played under Wenger at Monaco, and there is no suprise these players have become two of the worlds best.
