Cole Traded In For Beast?

Cole Traded In For Beast?

I have to admit, as a football fan, I love rumours. Can't get enough of them in fact. 99% of them never come true, but hey, who is counting? Well, apart from me obviously!

The latest gossip has once again linked Ashley Cole to Real Madrid. This time however, reports suggest the left back would be used in a swap deal for 'The Beast', aka Julio Baptista. The links certainly make sense, then again it could simply be a case of putting 2+2 and coming out with 5! Wenger is a known admirer of Baptista, and he was pursued last summer after being seen as a replacement for Viera. The interest failed because Baptista was attempting to gain Spanish citizenship. That situation should be concluded by the summer and the player would then be free to move freely within Europe.

The move could make sense for both players. Cole has been under close scrutiny since the 'tapping up' affair with Chelsea and The Beast has found his first team starts limited at the club with more money than sense! He has also expressed an interest in playing in the Premiership.
