'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Thank You Bobby

Robert Pires' decision to join Villarreal may not have come as any great shock, however, it's still a sad day to see one of the greatest goal scoring midfielders the Premiership has ever seen leave the club.

I'd prefer not to reflect on the reasons of Bobby's departure, but more on his illustrious career at Arsenal that brought some truely wonderful moments.

His goals against Liverpool, Lazio, Tottenham, Southampton (twice), Aston Villa and his famous penalty against Man City need little explination.

Pires brought some wonderful moments that we will never forget, moments like This one. I'd never seen it before today, but listen to the Spurs fans 'whoop' with delight as they think one of their own has got the better of Bobby, and thier whoops turn into to their more recognisable whinges as Bobby has a bit of fun of his own.

It's hard to put into words the way Arsenal fans feel about Bobby, so I won't try, I'll simply let you enjoy some of the finer moments of a brilliant French player who will always be remembered.

Thank You Bobby.

Thanks Bobby & good luck.

When I heard that he was leaving it came as no real surprise, nor in fact did it particularly sadden me, that is until I saw this video montage. How easy it is to forget the amazing qualities of this guy after one mediocre season. In truth it made me somewhat ashamed. He brought such quality and gave us so much. Bob, you are a true Arsenal Legend.

Man GunnerBlood, I did too this season forget the great memories he brought to Arsenal, I am very sad now tosee him leave, especially after that little video. Pires- we will all miss him. (will Reyes now play in the left midfield?)
gunner-minesh
I think Rosicky may be a direct replacement, we may see more of Reyes playing his more natural role as a second striker.

A star has left the Arsenal stage good luck goodbye but not forgotten all the best Bobbie

Gunning for glory
We will never miss him.But he could had agreed a one year deal.
kenyanrudeboy
He'll be fantastic in La Liga. He can add a pike and an extra roll to his dives.
FEn_100
Any defender who made the mistake of thinking Pires was a lightweight who would 'dive and roll', paid for it.
