Toure On His Way

Yaya Toure has expressed his desire to leave Greek side Olympiakos.

Toure made his feeling clear on national radio when he said,

'I feel sorry to have to tell the fans and the president on the radio that I want to leave Olympiakos,' he said on Sportime Radio.

'My decision is not to play football with Olympiakos any more.

'The people responsible for this decision are those around the president. They did not treat me as a professional.'

Yaya stated earlier in the month that he would enjoy a move to the Premiership and 'Maybe Kolo could make it happen'

With Arsenal desperately needing a bit of extra grit in midfield, the younger of the Toure's could really be a viable option.

Arsenal dont need anymore midfields and i cant see them get any. They got Fabregas and Rosicky so they have a right go at it next season.

Yaya is a defensive midfielder, if Gilberto were to suffer a serious injury then we would be left with Song and Flamini to be our enforcers. I'm sorry but that's just not good enough. Not to mention Bert isn't getting any younger and will be hitting 30 in the not too distant future. We need this type of player.

thats great news and since he want to leave we will get him for about 10m.

i think he is a quality player and would love to see him in ashburton grove...

Despite Matty 17x's assertions Arsenal are desperatelyshort in the middle of the park as Diaby suffered a broken ankle and is out till atleast December and as Rocky 7 points out the only players that could step into the middle now if one of our 2 first choice central midfielders got injured are quite frankly not good enough(especially Song who I feel lacks all that Wenger like qualities,ie pace ,skill and vision, and I was shocked and upset to hear we had offered him a contract).

I would say that Yaya is more an attacking midfielder/playmaker than a defensive one. He would help our depth, but not as Gilberto's backup/replacement.

Toure is in the Vieira mold, i'd love to see him at Arsenal. I would maybe prefer Mascherano though. I do think though that Toure could come in for Gilberto.

I would love to see yaya come to the premiership, he is a great player as seen in ivory coast. However i'm not too sure of how many first team places he will get as Gilberto is old but good still so maybe he might have to fight for a place.

yeah...a defensive midfielder is required...a backup for gilberto

YaYa Toure would be an excellent purchase for us. He and Diaby are similar but i think yaya would edge in front of him if he signed, as Diaby is excellent but young and still learning.
StryfedaGunner
he would make a gr8 signing for you , you have a good chance with his brother near by
lawz1981
He will never be as good as Didier Zokora though will he.
TOPHOTSPUR
We already have midfielders we dont need more we just need defenders
kenyanrudeboy
The fact that Zokora now plays for Totenham is enough to explain to everyone that there was very little competition for him.He claimed that United and Arsenal wanted him but Wenger categorically stated earlier in the year that he wasnt good enough to play for Arsenal.TOoure is already a world-class player according to those who have watched him over a long period. Also if Zokora was better than him he wouldnt ve benn at St Ettiene until he was 26.Iam hugely excited about teh prospect of signing Yaya as he is the sort of player that can improve every team.
