Buffon To Quit Juventus

Juventus old boy, Pavel Neved has revealed that apparent Arsenal target Gianluigi Buffon will leave Juventus in the coming weeks.

At the end of last month, Buffon's agent claimed that Arsenal had entered negotiation with regards to the players availability, saying,

'The negotiation exists, but it isn't easy.'

'London is a pleasing option, but Gigi would like to stay in Italy.'

'Despite this, Arsenal remains a welcome solution.'

Now his team mates has revealed his intentions to leave, buts says he doesn't know where to.

'I have discussed it with Buffon. He told me he was leaving and that we would probably not play in the same team,' Nedved said.'

'I don't know where he is going, you'll have to ask him.'

Well we came closer than you have EVER been to winning the CL and we've certainly got more experience in winning the league, so I don't see why we dont have a chance.

Why couldn't we win the Cl or Premiership, I think we have a fantastic chance at both, especially if Buffon joined.

do you think you'll get him, he's a great keeper and would out show lehmann any time (if that's how you spell it)

I would welcome him to the club, but it would be harsh on Lehmann who has had his best season ever.... Buffon has many more years on his side though.

If Arsenal are indeed in for Buffon & Buffon is intent on leaving then I could certainly see us getting him. All the major clubs in Europe already have 'their' keepers. We have Lehmann but time is not on his side.

cant see you getting rid of lehmann to be honest after last season, i dont think wenger will do it to him. buffon will be going now but i dont think you lot will sign him. no doubt he'll end up in spain.

Don't forget Juve spent 32mm on Buffon, they will be looking to the highest bidder, hello Man U? Although if you get enough for Ashley Cole it could be do-able.

very good point westl, they will be looking for a lot of money for these players, there is no financial crisis at juve, and many teams will pay stupid money that you cant match.

LOL, I looked quickly at the heading and wondered why you'd have something on here about r*n*ldo leaving your rivals. Then i looked again and realised that it didn't say BUFFOON. lol. :)

Elmo - which teams need to shell out millions of pounds on a keeper? United have got other things to worry about like DM's and strikers. They have Van Der Sar, they're in no rush. There arent many teams in the market for a very expensive goal keeper at the minute, however, we DO have money to spend, and if Buffon becomes available to us, there's little doubt that Wenger will snatch him up.

Come on have you really got Buffon type money?

I would think so 'ihatescum' Buffon should be available for a price between 12-16 Million. If Juve get relegated they can't afford to risk letting him go on a free, he has already stated he wants to leave.

Will that be the money you make from selling Cesc ?

Just jesting - We have plenty of cash to spare, not to mention Juve still owe us 10 million quid from the Vieira sale, si it wouldnt cost us much at all.

You got to be looking at 20m+ tho

I can't see that Juve have too much leverage on this one. If the get relegated (possibly to Serie C) then they are going to lose out on so much money, yes they need a tidy sum for him, but cant risk losing him for nothing. But even if the fee is, as you say, 20M, we only have to stump up 10 big ones, which would be no problem to land one of the best keepers in the world.

Yeah but as with any player you will not be the only club after him! Lets not forget he is the No1 keeper in the world ! also wenger has a bit of a soft spot for Lehmann the loon

But all Europes big teams have their Keepers. Van Der Sar, Casillas, Cech, Dida, Valdez, none of which would be happy to play second fiddle. Plus Buffon's agent has already said that Arsenal would be a nice prospect!!
