Five Star Toure

Only a week after Tomas Rosicky & Francesc Fabregas got their new numbers, Kolo Toure has at last been issued with a proper defenders number.

Since joinh Arsenal in 2002, Kolo Toure has worn the unorthadox number 28 shirt, but in this period of change he has now been given a real defenders number, the number 5.

Toure has been a rock for us over the past few years, and now Sol Campbell has departed he will become the leader of the defence (although in honesty, he's been leading it for a while now anyway)

Great to see someone deserving take over Martin's vacated number. TH14 is still odd to me, but it's too late to change now. Will be missing not having no. 10 on the pitch.

Number 5 is special. The memories. In fact my favorite number 5 was Nayim, who smacked home that beauty from 50 yards out. Can still see Seaman flappng like a seagull... . It's also indicates where Arsen'ole will finish this year. Cheers!

I like five on Toure. It equals the amount of European trophies won by norf London's two great rivals. 3-2 to the Tottenham.

It's about history, elmo. About joining a long procession of legends who came before and will follow. Of course, if you're a team like spuds that list will be very short and not worth bothering about. Numbers like 00 come to mind.

Toure deserves to wear number 5. He is in my opinion in the top 3 centre backs in the world, and this is a little token of that fact

It was only a matter of time I suppose... also a good marketing tool as it will encourage more people to buy the new shirt. He does deserve it though, he has been astounding since moving to centre back - already an Arsenal legend.

Toure, a N'arsenull legend? Zoot alors! When do you plan to honour Greg Louganis for tutoring him? Or was that Small Campbell he worked with? Next thing you know, Coco Chanel will get a stand named for her for teaching Teary Henry to play like a woman. Ah, Eezleengton, c'est un trop.

Well, Rocky, I know this, there's this great gouge in the turf at Stade de France where either Toure's legend as a man came to a crashing halt. There's also a bare strip at the other end where grass won't grow cozza Lehman's tears. See y'all in UEFA after the drop.

GWN is just a bell-end who thinks he witty and amusing when in fact he's just having problems coming to terms with the fact that Arsenal are a superior club to Tottenham (it has been a long while!). As for Toure, he was there when we went 49 games unbeaten - legend.
