Wenger: No Room For Saviola

Arsene Wenger has killed off all rumours that Arsenal are set to sign Argentine Javier Saviola.

His statement proves that the rumours were just that, saying,

"We are not interested in Saviola at all," Wenger said.

"I have enough forward players. We have Rosicky, Ljungberg, Reyes, Van Persie, Henry, Adebayor, Walcott, Lupoli, Bendtner, Aliadière¸ so where do I put the strikers?"

And with that another rumour is laid to rest.

It's good to settle rumors quickly and concentrate on the core business . AW did is fine job to say that here.

Pity, would have been a great addition to the squad. Anyway, Wenger knows more about management then any of us, so he obviously feels that there is enough cover in this area, and of the same quality of Saviola.

Another thought though, will this be the same as the Italian quote - "we are not going to buy anyone from the italian fallout" only to table a bid for Buffon. Interesting..........

now im very confused basically what were the negotiations with the agent then ?

As a Spurs fan through and through I must admit that I'm glad you lot aren't getting Saviola, though I am not quite sure where you would play him but still, he's amazing and I'd prefer him to stay away from Woolwich!

I knew it we dont need any strikers.Have you seen how much we got
kenyanrudeboy
KRB - If you 'knew' we don't need any strikers, why did you say we should sign him in the forum Saviola thread?!?
pitythefool
saviola is soooo overated! he's too lightweight for this division really.
elmo85
naah m8, should of signed him while we had the chance at 4 mill what a deal that wengers messed up. We need another goal scorer and saviola would have been perfect we cant rely on henry all season. Adebayor is not good simple as and v.persie is not consistent.
hazzagooner
Saviola's a good player but wont score loads of goals. We have so much strikers but how many can you say would score more than 20goals a season?(apart from you know who)
