'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davies Drops Arsenal Hint

Whilst other sites are reporting that West Brom defender, Curtis Davies is staying at the club, I have a different take on his comments.

Davies said,

'Naturally, I want to play for England one day and I enjoyed immensely the experience of playing in The Premiership last season, competing against the likes of Thierry Henry and Ruud van Nistelrooy, even though I'd look at pictures of the games afterwards and think to myself that my face must have been superimposed,'

'But when people ask me, 'Are you going to Arsenal?' I take it in my stride.

'I get a confidence boost to be linked with those clubs but I don't get carried away about it.

'I'm a West Brom player and if nothing else happens, I'm very happy to play my football here in The Championship this coming season.

For me it's the 'if nothing else happens' comment that betrays him a little. It's a comment of a player who wants to move on to bigger and better things (like the Emirates perhaps?) like a player who wants to better himself and further his career. But also the comments of a player who doesn't want to upset the West Brom faithful in case he doesn't end up going anywhere.

He may move to the Gunners, he may move elsewhere, but I firmly believe the player is looking to play in the top flight next season.

The only riddle is why anyone would want to play for a 4th place team this year.
USA
you mean USA that why wouldn't anyone want to play with one of the greateset team their is and whom plays a beautifull style of attacking football and whom has the top talents in the world.
gunner-minesh
no, i think he eant to say that Curtis would like to play for the Champions League runners-up, lol!!
KingGooner
What would you prefer USA? To play in the premier league or the championship? It does not take a rocket scientist to work it out!
tinypete
Yes, why would anyone want to play for a Champions League finallist? Boggles the mind. He's playing it proper. Keeping the door open, yet not so much that it *****es of the manager and the fans.

best stadium best manager best talent scout, best grooming of talent well it all adds up to beautiful football.....thats Arsenal for you ,,,i love this team...
daddyb
Well take the EPL and CL this year. You can be Bob Seger's beautiful losers.
USA
You wont win the CL because you're simply not good enough in Europe. Couple it with the fact that you aren't seeded AGAIN, and it's likely you'll come up against one of the big boys.......most likely, Barcelona!!!

Come on Arsenal ,pay top dollar for Curtis he's going to be in the next England squad ,he'll go on to captain England, possibly being the 1st captain since Bobby Moore to lift the world cup,He's got so much quality WBA made him captain straight away, not bad for one so young.Oh yes , Plus Luton Town get a nice bit through the sell on cause,So go get him Gooners.

I honestly thimk its time Le boss stops screwing around with "young talents". If we want to win the premiership then we should think about the immediate future of the club. Carrick? Yaya?
