Wenger Targets Experience

Wenger Targets Experience

Arsene Wenger has admitted he will sign one or two more players, citing experience as one of the main qualities.

As with every summer, Wenger has played his cards close to his chest and even though we all know this will happen, it doesn't stop us getting frustrated.

So far Wenger has only signed Tomas Rosicky this off season, and while every Arsenal fan is extremely excited by the prospect of watching this very talented player play in the red and white of the Gunners, most have been a bit un-nerved by the amount of players going out to the amount coming in.

We have lost Sol Campbell, Robert Pirs, Dennis Bergkamp, Ryan Smith, Nicklas Bendtner, Seb Larsson, Fabrice Muamba and the inevitable departure of Ashley Cole mean we have a ratio of 8:1. Frustrating , yes.

Well the recent statement of the lord our Wenger should go some way to putting our minds at ease.

"I have a lot of faith in my young players," he said. "You always feel you need experienced players but if you have too many, the younger players will not play. I try to find the right balance between the experienced players and the young players.' Said Le Boss

"We still have some experienced players out at the moment — Henry, Lehmann - but having said that I will still buy one — with experience. The target is one or two. One certainly."

His comments seem as though he definately has players in mind, but of course we won't find out exactly who they are until a deal has been done. One thing Wenger did half give away that one of the players was more than likely to be defensive, and when the question was posed whether the player would play centre back or left back, he said simply and with a smile.

"It is a possibility,"

Adding fuel to both transfer fires of Ashley Cole & William Gallas.

Whilst its really sad to see Dennis / Sol etc go we didnt use them much last season anyway and Bobby has pretty much been replaced with an equally exciting player. Hopefully Gallas / Abidal would be worthy additions aswell, maybe even Ribery, they're all class acts.

With the money from selling cole we should bring in ribery according to reports. Hopefully so as he is a fast skillfull and technical player. He would improve our style of play vastly. Kinda like our version of Guily but better. Also we have again been linked with Alou Diarra, which would be a good buy as he is just another Vieira but younger. Cheap too. Finally we will be going for that Ghanian player on trial cause he can play LB and CB or who knows we could get gallas but he prefers a move abroad. But Campbell said the same thing and hes gone Pompey. Who knows? But whoever we bring in we're gonna win the league and champions league...

this certainly has gone against the normal transfer policy of buying or loaning youth.

Ribery isn't any better then the wingers we current have apart from Freddie, Ribrey has potential but i don't think he is that good, i wouldn't put him in front of helb, reyes or rosicky. We need a defender more then anything our attacking play is fine and as strong as anyones, but we lack genuine talent in defence as cover. I'd hate to imagen a bad injury to Toure.

must agree with johnaldiniho i dont think ribery will add anything we are missing, much as i rate him we can spend better elsewhere especially in bulking up the midfield and defence.

We'll take A. Cole (and keep Gallas). You can use the $$$ to buy lots of folks!

All we need is one defender and a good holding midfielder, preferably gallas and diarra. The rest of the midfield is perfect, as is our attack.
