'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Henry: I'll Never Leave

Thierry Henry has fallen in love with the city of London, it is his home now and he says he will never leave.

Just 48 hours after the crushing defeat in the Champion League final by Barcelona Henry signed a new four year deal with the Gunners announcing 'I will finish my career with Arsenal', but even when his illustrious career finishes he won't leave London.

'London is my home. I love London and I will never leave here whatever happens. I am proud of it. It is never easy for someone from abroad to come and be accepted.'

Speaking at the launch of his brand new Reebok sponsorship Henry also wanted to set a few things straight. The Gunners marksman is world renouned for his famous scowl and 'arrogant' goal celebrations, but the Frenchman doesn't want to be perceived like that off the pitch.

'I know it is difficult to believe because when I see myself on the pitch I can't believe how serious I look. But that's the way I am and I will never change. Off the pitch I am not the same guy you see on the pitch. I am chilled and laid-back. It must be my West Indian roots.'

However Henry doesn't have a problem with his on pitch antics.

'In the game you need a bit of arrogance. I have never been scared of saying that I am confident of my abilities. Some people have a problem about saying that but I know what I am good at and what I am not good at.'

yyeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!! best striker in the world. any arguments???
mish
None from me guv. But give it time for the Chavs and Squirts to get here and I'm sure you'll have someone who disagrees with you!!

I agree but I also think he could score 10 more every season if he was more agressive in front of goal - sometimes I believe he is a bit too casual and misses chances with an attempted soft "clever" effort when a good old fashioned well placed thunderbolt is called for. However, as was said, he is still the best in the world because he has nearly as many assists as goals and thats why is IS the best !!!

damn, i was hoping he'd sign for leeds :) seriously though he is THE BEST player the premiership has had, no arguements, and a loyal nice guy too

ones you settle at arsenal you will never want to leave

Unless you are a particularly stupid rent boy with a fat greedy money-grabbing agent and blinded by money yourself.

glad to hear that, lets hope barca heard that too and we do not get any stories about him wanting to leave

His arrogance is what makes him the player he is. It's what gives him that extra 5%, otherwise he wouldn't have scored that backheel v Charlton that swivel and volley against Man USA etc etc etc etc.

Great to know. All set. Let's go for another of those "30"s this season.
SWPACIFIC
Start the clock...he'll be in Serie A or La Liga in 3 years max.
USA
Although I would have loved to have seen him move to SW6 so I could see him play every other week I am glad he is still in the PL so I can see him 2x a season, a great player.

Arrogance accelerates ability.Inability and arrogance makes u.....Now who could argue that he is not the best in the world. When he met with Buck-tooth we saw it all...and we saw it TWICE..CL and WC..Hhooosee Thierry!Go boy
gunner4ever
USA...Why would he want to go to anywhere else ? Even at his peak he is staying here because he loves playing his football and living here. If he chooses at 31 or 32 to go then we would have to respect that because the man will have given us about 10(brilliant) seasons by then...but I hope he sees out his career with us.
