Lehmann Out, Almunia In

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Jens Lehmann will miss the second leg of Arsenal's 3rd round Champions League qualifier with Dinamo Zagreb at Ashburton Grove tonight.

Le Boss did not seem too concerned about the German stopper, and simply dismissed it as a slight knee injury. However the Arsenal gaffer see's fit to rest Lehmann in a game that is all but won anyway.

Manuel Almunia has been named as Lehmann's replacement for tonights clash as the Spaniard has on many ocassions including last years Champions League final and more recently the first leg against Zagreb after Lehmann was susspended following his sending off in Paris last season.

"Lehmann has a slight knee problem so Manuel Almunia will play," said Wenger at Tuesday`s pre-match press conference

Wenger also gave injury & team news for the rest of the squad.

"Tomas Rosicky is not in the squad but Freddie Ljungberg is in. In fact, we have exactly the same squad as against Aston Villa plus Song and Aliadiere."

we need a convincing win and performance later to bring a feel good factor to Ashburton Grove. a few cleverly crafted goals would bring confidence to a few players. But Zagreb will come to keep the score respectable, though their strikers dont look capable of scoring 4 goals against us. would also like to see more of Traore and Walcott later, and possibly Aliadiere as well.

Wouldn't Lehmann have been suspended for this game anyway?

I don't think so, his red card was for a professional foul and not violent conduct. I'd have to dig the rule book out for that one!!

Anyone know if it's being shown anywhere else bar ITV4?

Arsenal TV Online are showing it!!

Tonight is a good chance to get a good win and start to make Ashburton feel like home. C'mon the Reds.

Win it was but i think that almunia could have done better for zagrebs goal.
