Lehmann Wins Keeper Of The Year

Jens Lehmann has been named the UEFA club goalkeeper of the year.

The draw is underway for the group stages of the Champions League, and this year the draw has been coupled with the player awards for last years competition.

Lehmann was up against Coupet & Gigi Buffon, but the German came out on top after his unbelievable performances against Real Madrid, Juventus & Villarreal.

Mad Jens was dismissed in the final of last years final after comitting a professional foul, but his performances in the preivous rounds outshone his red card.

Ladies & Gentlemen I give you Jens Lehmann - Uefa Club Goalkeeper Of The Year.

Much deserved.

Definately well deserved, he was easily better than the others. also congratulations to Eboue and Titi for receiving nominations for Uefa Club Defender and Forward Of The Year respectively!

Very well deserved. I was kind of hoping for Halle Berry style histrionics and tears in Jens' acceptance speech. For once, Jens kept his cool. Shame.

Vindication of AW's faith when all round those of little faith were saying "get rid of Lehmann and sign a decent keeper".....

I take it that just like zidanes world cup nomination, this was voted for before the final.

Jens earned the award in real style and flying colours. All say "yea" to magician Lehman! He is poised to retain the title for the new season!
