The Rumour Mill

The Rumour Mill

With the close of the transfer window only a matter of days away the press are going into over drive, so I decided to resurrect 'The Rumour Mill' for the home straight.

The Mirror suggest that Mr Wenger will move for the Saints 17 year old left back sensation Gareth Bale and as an insurance to win the players signature Arsenal will offer the defender back to Southampton on a years loan.

Arsenal youngster Anthony Stokes is apparently lining up a move to Falkirk according to Sky Sports News.

Rumour regulars, The Sun have this morning reported a 17 million quid move for Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez.

Kilmarnock youngster Steven Naismith will have a two day trial at the Gunners, however Killie boss Jim Jefferies doesn't think much will come of it.

Myles Palmer of Arsenal News Review hears that Arsenal have revived their interest in record breaking keeper Gigi Buffon after his Gooner friend told him so!!!!

The Guardian believes Arsenal and Man Utd head the chase for West Ham's under 21's star Nigel Reo-Coker

That's it from today's Rumour Mill, more tomorrow as the tension mounts.

Remember that the names of the players highlighted are links to the stories.

There was a slight initial problem with the links, but all has been repaired, I hope there was no inconvenience. Cheers

I have seen Bale play and I can tell you he is some player. he can hit a dead ball better than most players, beckham like. he takes southampton's free-kicks. for a left back (just) 17 years old that is unheard of. but we are OK for 16 year old left backs as surely wenger would just use Traore? perhaps he has traore ear marked as a left winger as he is superb going forward.

As far as I'm aware Traore played centre back last night, whether that was down to Ashley Cole being in the line up or not is another question, but it proves the kid has more than one string in his bow.

I don't believe the Bale link. I think there's a young left back out there who's been getting some attention and some lazy hack has put two and two together. AW says he's looking for experience.

To be honest with you LD, the only one I do believe is the Naismith link, and thats only because he's at our training ground on a two day trial!

True, wouldn't mind if the Reo Coker one was true though! No doubt he will end up being priced at £30m, and he'll bring out an autobiography blaming Theo Walcott for giving him a cold in the U-21s.

Lmao. English players are so over priced, however I reckon a cheeky 12 million bid for Coker would be excellent business.

think Wenger has lost the PLOT!!!Lucky last season!! Nearly never made C/LGE. Arsenal should not be relying on other teams results. If SPURS won? NO C?LGE and NO HENRY!!!!!!!!!!!! LOST VEIRA, EDU, PIRES, CAMPBELL, PROBS COLE. IN 2 SEASONS!!! WOTS GOING ON!!!! THIS SEASON IS A SHAMBLES GET WENGER OUT BEFORE HE RUINS EVERYTHING. NO CHANCE OF TITLE. CHELSKI WON`T DROP MANY POINTS AND UTD ARE 5 CLEAR ALREADY. 4th IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. WHY NO ZOKORA AND CARRICK!! OR WOODGATE. THE EMPIRE IS CRUMBLING AM AFRAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'd be better off selling Cashley to us for the £20m-twice his value and lots of money to improve yourself.
