West Ham - The New Super Power?

It has been confirmed that West Ham have sealed the transfer of the summer by landing Argentinian pair, Tevez & Mascherano.

Arsenal had been firmly tipped to land these two world class players as their agent had confirmed that they would be moving to an English club, and I don't think I was alone in thinking that it would have been Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd.

However, it has been confirmed by the players, the clubs and the players agents that they will indeed land the pair on a years loan.

I must say fair play to the staff at West Ham in pulling off what appears to be one of the most sensational transfers seen in a long long time.

I'll admit to being fairly jealous as I feel Mascherano would have strengthen our midfiled no end.

Astonishing stuff.

I think these two players will take time to acclimatise, I don't think getting them on loan was so smart. But nevertheless, two big names for the Hammers. But surely they don't need another striker?

A cheeky last minute bid for Reo-Coker anyone :P
west ham had NOTHING to do with this deal. MSI, funded by Roman Abramovich, agreed to take them to WH for one season and if they settle well, they will end up at Chelsea. WH are just chelsea's pawn. disgrace.
Pawn or not, I don't think you'll hear West Ham complaining.
As a Hammers fan, it's good to see such generous comments. Regardless of the ulterior motives of the duo's 'owner's' (what a dreadful concept) MSI, this must constitute a huge coup for West Ham. It'll be a real joy to see such talent parade their skills in east London, albeit only for a few months.
Chelski have got their fingers in every mucky pie going. The Brazilian defender Alex, who is owned by Chelski, is apparently going on loan to PSV. I did an article for the gooner online (shameless plug) on our Group F opponents and found out that Abramovich bought Wagner Love for CSKA. Are you listening newsnight? Any of this worthy of investigation? Of course not. C***s.

On loan to Corinthians not PSV.

Fair play west sham. A tad gutted from an AFC perspective. Still - there's talk of a 19 y/o Japanese kid coming!! grrrrreat. Our first 11 will be wearing nappies angain this year.
Little Dutch - Would you care to join the forum so I can have a little Personal Message chat with you?? I will be around at about 2 o clock if that's ok?
personally, i think it's a way of getting their values driven WAAAY up in a year's time, whereupon they will leave to go to a far larger club. think about it, they'll have had a year in the prem, and in europe under their belts, shown they can cut it, and then the major clubs will know they can hack it, but will by then have to part with some seriousl moolah to sign them. »»Arsene Knows««
Spot on Wingston!
Nil problemmo.

cheers Rocky7 - however wouldnt put it past the russian to have his hand in it, like the emperor from star wars... getting them to come over to the dark side... »»Arsne Knows««
Roman A owns 15% of MSI and Kia Joorabchian owns a lot too. Kia was trying to buy West Ham this time last year. MSI own the rights of both Argentinians and owns corinthians. So all the links are there and clear to see. If Roman is controlling these players there was no way they'd come to Arsenal.
If these 2 do well, they'll probably be at Chelski in January...
make that the beginning of next season, diamondlights... »»Arsene Knows««
Attention any Gooners planning on going to Hamburg, get yo raggedy asses onto ryanair, flights a penny each way from Stansted. Get them quick before they go. I got mine baby.

by no means, are wet shame anywhere near being a superpower! bear in mind, they've only been in the prem for a season, and whilst i have a lot of time for their angry little fans, i hate to burst their bubble, they are no more than a feeder club!
The headline was tongue in cheeks Elmo. It's clearly all a bit underhanded.
what a coup by west ham, how the hell did they manage that, i dont think they will sign them full time know
green giant 12
i dont think they will get them period, i think theres gonna be a lot of dissapointed whammers come midnight!
Tevez? Mascherano? These sound very english Pardew!!! Hypocrite!!!
What a sensation! West Ham is definitely planning to shoot some stars down. A Champions League spot beckons?
Like little dutch said, its Abramovic's company (MSI) that sent them to West Ham. MSI (based in London) bought controll in Corinthians and were always going to send them to a London based Premiership club where they could get definate first team football and a good chance to aclimatise. Chelsea wouldnt offer them consistent first team football, so that rules them out for the time being, Arsenal are too good for Chelsea's liking and theres a bit of i rivalry between AFC and CFC, Tottenham are suposedly "decent" and that leaves West Ham, which shouldnt chalenge Chelsea too much and can offer the players first team football. If they do not aclimatise to England then Chelsea will break away from the players and let them do what they want and if they aclimatise Chelsea can swoop with all their cash and connections. F****i hate this s***
west ham may have tevez etc, but as long as they have *****e like carroll in their team, the balance will never be there. im happy to let them dream though...
The links between this MSI crowd and Abramovich raises the "controlling interests". I mean, we gave Beveren 1mil to save them from liquidation where as this guy Kia Joorabchian who runs MSI made a "gift" of Tevez to Corinthians (same sponsers as Chelsea by the way) when he practically bought the club. same again here with West Ham it looks like. All the best to the hammers, and personnaly I'd rather they ended up there than Chavski or ManUSA. But mark my words, there is something seriously dodgy going on here.
