Arsenal Agree Loan Deal For 'Beast'

A Real Madrid spokesman has revealed that Arsenal & Real have agreed a loan deal which will see Reyes and Baptista at the respective clubs.

The clubs may have agreed the move but the two players are yet to sign any contract, although I don't think Reyes will have a problem with it.

At the end of each players loan deal, the clubs will have the option to buy.

Arsene Wenger had a failed attempt to bring Julio Baptista to the Gunners last summer but it appears as though the French manager has finally got his man.

More news as it arrives.

Hey Rocky your Idea came true!, Julio Bapista is very good, but can he play left or right midfield? and how much better is he than reyes? I know he's the 'Beast' but don't know much about his playing style etc. but I do know that its a good deal and its one outta 2 dun.

His first game at the Emirates might be Sunday for Brazil and he would be wearing Henrys 14. Omen?? That aside I like the idea its a loan deal. Ironically Reyes is the reason I'm glad its a loan. Some players don't settle. "Spine player" as AW would say. Good signing.

rosicky, walcott, freddie and hleb can all play left... and right.... and centre, come to that... baptista may well play in a more central role... »»Arsene Knows««

walcott has taken reyes' place as backup to rosicky on the left of midfield. baptista could play in the 'bergkamp' role, or wenger could make a masterstroke and convert baptista back into his original DMC position. one can only hope.

I don't think he'll play him striker. Put him in for gilberto. Fabregas needs to be challenged for his place too. He's only 19. If he has it too easy he'll never fufill his potential. At present he has Song, Flamini and Diaby for competition.

to be honest, i can hardly see Baptista playing the bergkamp role. RVP can't play that, and he's the closest thing we've got to the iceman. If anyone will play that role, more likely to be rosicky... »»Arsene Knows««

let's hope he plays deep lying central midfield, with the abilit to break forward and attack as a third deep-lying late-running striker into the box. Fab I'm sure has the intelligence to adapt and know when to cover for his colleague making a forward break, and we've seen he's got the heart to put himself about, hopefully this season he'll have more of the physique to do it when needed, too... Nice. I hope we get him. This guy can definately pair up with henry up front and really do some damage. I heard he can also play CM which really helps if Csec gets injured or anything.

good thign about this - reyes going to real not only means we get baptista, it also means that as he's not ended up at atletico that the spuds will not get martin petrov, an allged target of jol's for some time now. happy days??? »»Arsene Knows««
