Gooners Kept Guessing

Gooners Kept Guessing

I thought that after all the dodgy shananigans surrounding Ashley Cole and his move to Chelsea, at least we'd only have to wait till midnight on Thursday 31st August and then we'd know one way or the other.

Guess again.

While most new agencies are reporting that the deal went through with Cole going to Chelsea in exchange for William Gallas and 5 million quid, there are a couple who suggest that both clubs failed to get the required paperwork through in time, in all honesty nobody has a clue whats going on.

Cole dashed from his England training session to undertake a medical in Manchester, while William Gallas reportedly made his way to London for the same reason, however negotiation came to a halt over Gallas' wages.

It's all very confusing and I actually fear the worst (the worst being that little chav still actually being a gooner) otherwise surely one of the two clubs would have made a statement by now.

The worrying thing is that following Pascal Cygan's transfer to Villarreal we now only have two fit centrebacks and Phileppe Senderos still weeks away from making a come back. Surely we couldn't have made a mistake that big, could we?

I guess we'll know more in the morning.

(I'm sure I've said that before)

Actually there is a statement on Chelsea's official page, "Cole to Chelsea, Gallas to Arsenal", but that's all - no details.

As a Chelsea fan I've got to say that you've captured the better player, albeit 4 years older - plus 5 mill of course!

i really dont believe arsenal accepted 5 million only . . . this is a slap in the face to us. that means we value cole at 10-15 million and im not happy with that but atleast we have gallas

Isn't that just like Arsenal. I bet this was tied up around 6pm, but AW and DD wanted to make Ashley sweat. Still, if he's the Arsenal supporter he says he is, Ashley will have appreciated another Michael Thomas moment surely!
