Arsenal Legend Leaves The Gunners

Pascal 'Zindane' Cygan is a Gooner no more.

Cygan, a cult hero at Ashburton Grove has quit North London and has followed ex-team mate Robert Pires to Villarreal. The Spanish side have taken the centre back for an impressive 2 Million.

The bald Frenchman won the hearts of the Gooners with his performances of little ability but plenty of heart.

Cygan took plenty of stick from the terraces but not once did he moan, never did he whinge about being on the bench and he'd never of dreamt about going behind the clubs back to secure himself a better deal.

Yes we all slagged him off, but I must admit, I'm going to miss old Pascal, and I'd like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best for the rest of his career in Spain.

Take care Zindane.

abdleb
I bet he's reading this right now and tearing up as we speak. Shame he's gone. So beatable.
greatwhitenorf
Classy goodbye. greatwhitenorf is an idiot.

Good luck Pascal!

And you, USA, have all the class of a toad's sphincter. A marginalized member of a nation that doesn't know football exists, you strike me as little more than a boy-in-a-bubble in some Manhattan hi-rise, misery looking for company. You are the poster boy for pathetic. And it's still one-nil to the Osama. Good bye, good luck on getting cured.
greatwhitenorf
thanks for memories zinedine! ;-)
jim_the_gooner
well done what a great comment greatwhiteknob "0ne-nil to Osama" i hope friends and relatives of victims of 7/7 have read your wonderful comment youre an idiot and a supporter of a truly pathetic team
mulauk
and goodluck Pascal thankyou for your effort and i wish you all good luck with Bobby at Villareal

now that you leave, some Arsenal fans think you're an angel.

Good luck Pascal, the guy always gave his best and I was appalled at some of the abuse he received (particularly at Charlton last boxing day). He weren't the greatest, but his attitude was spot on. But how the hell did we get 2m for a 32 year old in the last year of his contract? ARSENE KNOWS.
Little Dutch
good luck to him, he did well at arsenal but lacked pace he wasent the best, but he put in 100% every match
green giant 12
Yes...not the greatest defender you've ever had, but a real trier.
sandgroanun
AW should have let him go for free if an offer came along!! he was that bad. good attitude and all, but i am really happy he's gone. great business by AW, though, that he actually ANY money for him, and 2M at that, is really good.
prits
we got 2 mil for him ... about 1.9 mil more den he is worth lmao ... sorry but i never liked the guy ... he has had his moment good and bad ... more bad then good maybe he was unlucky ... i hope so and he will get the luck he needs at villareal ...
Achilles
greatwhitenorf You sound just like my shrink here in NYC. except he has teeth!
USA
cygan was hard working player no doubt.. but he came when we were in our 49 games unbeaten and it was hard for any defender to come in to our defence wen the fans were expecting such high quality defending... then i guess he jus slowly faded out of the picture but getting 2 mill for a 32 year old defender is very good great deal david diennnnn
#1-gooner
greatwhitenorf: That is one of the most stupid, insensitive remarks that i have read in a long time. You are obviously of very limited intelligence, so I suggest that you get someone with 2 brain cells (1 more than you) to check your posts first
