Ljungberg: We Need To Show Pride

Arsenal Wingman, Freddie Ljungberg, has spoken about his disapointment at the defeat at the hands of Bolton at the Reebok on Saturday.

Dispite not playing at the top of his game himself of late, the Swede has expressed his concerns about some area's of the team not willing to 'put your foot in'

'You need to be ready for the fight, but some of our players didn't not stand up for it. The big sides need to and we didn't - and that's the reason we lost,' said Ljungberg.

'That's why they outfought us in some areas. It is very, very disappointing and I'm not happy with losing here. Away from home in the Premiership has been a problem.

'We need to realise that to win the Premiership you need to sometimes put your foot in. It's going to hurt, but that's part of the English game.

'We learned another lesson against Bolton - we need to play better, put our foot in a bit, and show some pride.

'The pretty stuff will still do you proud in Europe, but on the home front you must find a way to combat opponents who are not afraid to get stuck in against your midfield, especially with Patrick Vieira gone.'

Freddie's comments have been echoed round the pubs of North London, with many Arsenal fans unhappy at the commitment of the players.
