Senderos To Resume Training

After suffering a shoulder injury in the World cup, Phileppe Senderos is almost ready to get his boots back on.

'My shoulder feels better and I'm seeing the specialist this week,' he said

'I expect to get the green light to resume training next week. It has been a test of my mental strength but I will come back stronger than ever.

After the adition of William Gallas & the emergance of Johan Djourou, Senderos knows he's got a fight on his hands.

'Now it's down to me to win my place back in the Arsenal defence.'

Nice to have options isn't it? Four class central defenders, even Chelscum can't boast that.
Little Dutch
They can't boast two!!!
Rocky7
rocky i count 1, you don't really think carvalho is class do you ? !!!!
PUREGOLD
You mis-read, I said they CAN'T boast two.
Rocky7
So who do guys think will be our back four when we have everybody fit? I reckon it will be Eboue, Clichy, Toure and Gallas. It would be harsh to drop Eboue after his performances so far and Gallas wouldn't want to play at left back forever....
codchops
Completely agree codchops......that has to be the fastest defensive line up in the world!!
Rocky7
I think that would/should be our back line. What's also great about it is with Senderos, Djourou, Lauren all waiting in the shadows, the aforementioned backline will have to be on its toes. In the case of injuries/suspensions we have quality replacements. Chelscum are struggling just to put a back four out, they're playing a centre half at right back!
Little Dutch
Great news for Arsenal. So much quality at the back..it's quite frightening!
sandgroanun
Forget Ye not the talents of Ryan Garry and Armand Traore coming through!!!
Rocky7
I think that Eboue and Clichy are certainties, and I'd like to see Gallas, Toure and Senderos sharing the two central positions on some sort of rotational basis, to keep them fresh instead of waiting for injuries. Looking forward to Lauren's return too...
JakeB
I have a feeling that AW will replace Eboue with Lauren. we'll see. but I would say there is definite room for rotation when there are 2 or 3 games per week.
gazzap
i'd like to see lauren come back into the team, eboue still needs to work on the defensive side of his game and his final ball going foward, so many times he has been caught out of position. but it wudnt be a bad thing to play both of them together, maybe when we have injuries and suspensions or some less important games, we can even play lauren at right midfield, too many options, can't remember the last time when we had so much quality in our defence..
luckys_10
With a back four like that and Fabregas, Gilberto, Rosicky, hleb Van rapist and henery. You should win the title if not be runners up if you are unlucky. No excuses! I new you would all agree......
cockeril
'New' you would all agree?
Little Dutch
ye we will have the fastest solidest line up i hope that clichy lives up to his best and shows hs better then we think he is. good to see our defence will be coming back now
abdleb
Damn you Cockeril!! I was gonna post about how nice it is to have a quiet pice of banter with fellow gooners without some little spurs fan coming on to disturb the peace, and then Poof! You show your ugly face. Sheeet!!

Eboue, Toure, Gallas and Clichy would be the fastest back four in the world. And with replacements being Lauren, Djourou, Senderos and Gallas (at LB), man, that's a fine back line! Funny how much Gallas has helped us improve. And to think I was afraid his arrival would stifle the development of Djourou and Senderos! Thank God I'm not the coach!
And yes Cockeril, we ARE contenders this year.
