The Title Race Is Back On
After a well deserved victory over Charlton, the title race is back on for the Gunners.
I won't give you a match report as Mr Stillman will bring that to you shortly, what I am here to discuss is Arsenal's title credentials.
A couple of games into the season, everyone had written off Arsenal's title challenge, rather foolishly thinking we couldn't win enough games with the other challengers dropping points enough for us to get back in it. Fools.
The people making these remarks have watched football for years, they are probably as much a football fan as we are, yet they sit on the fence and dare not predict against the obvious result, which as we all know is never the case in football.
Indeed I have had a Chelski fan or two baiting on this very site, asking me if the '7' in the handle 'Rocky7' had anything to do with the 7 points we trailed the Blues by at the time. Well only a few weeks down the line and the boys from the Bridge are looking over their shoulders at a red and white steam train which is positively rip-roaring up the table.
After that fantastic victory over Man USA at the 'theatre of dreams', we took three points from Sheffield United at the 'theatre of reality' to propell us right back up into the thick of things.
A draw for Man Utd against Reading and a week later one for Chelsea against an ever improving Aston Villa see's us only 5 points behind Chelsea with a game in hand, and with the Gunners easily playing the best football of any team in the Premiership, would you bet against them winning the league?
I wouldn't.

I'm a lifelong gooner. I hope you're right. I still think Chelsea will win. But I hope the beautiful game triumphs in the face of... well... evil.

i wont say we WILL like the chelsea fans are saying or the manchester united fans were saying. . .what i will say is that the title race is ON and that we have a VERY good squad with BELIEF that we CAN do it. . .

I have the belief. We are playing similar football as we did in 2003. and while we didn't win the title, we have more belief about us. We will be there or there abouts. I am confident of some sort of sucsess this season!

we played really well today, i just want us to go top of the league, once we're there, im sure we're gonna hang onto whatever lead we have, it'll be so amazing to be top after quite a while..

I think we can certainly challenge, we are playing very well at the moment, as long as we can keep that up, theres a great chance of challenging, were only 5 points behind cheslsea and with a game in hand. and although i haven't seen the highlights, it sounds like chlesea weren't very good today at all so everythings looking good :-)

To win the title this season will be very hard. But if we keep winning and gaining confidence, I truely believe that there is'nt a team out there in the EPL that we can't beat.

we do play the best football but that was never is doubt even when we had 2 points. its whether we have the staying power and can win games that we dont play so well in. thats the mark of true champions.

yeah we play good football,all neutrals and professionals alike say they would pay to watch Arsenal play,but that doesnt win you anything, its all about compeating at the highest levels,and in the marathon that is the league its all down to the quality of the squad,and i have to say are second team and bench is much stronger than last year with the new players in and the young lads with all that extra experience gained,we have alot of strength in depth,which will come in handy when the injuries n suspensions kick in.the futures bright in red n white

Good to see its looking a little more open this year. I think a few of the so called smaller teams will surprise a few this year and get results at Chelsea, man utd, liverpool and arsenal.

i always believe arsenal can win, this year more than ever, everyone is talking about the football we are playing, our squad is older and wiser and more experienced thanks to some great business on the last day of the season... 1 game in hand and we are 2 pts off the pace.... and now we have a few easier games to play... hmmm could this be ?
