Clichy & Senderos Return To Action

Gael Clichy & Phileppe Senderos both made sucessful comebacks in an Arsenal reserves match that finish 2-1 to the Gunners at Upton Park last night.

Clichy's injury has been the more long term when he broke his foot playing for the France under 21's at White Hart Lane all those many moons ago, but he played 45 minutes of the game before being subbed at half time, however the substitution was planned.

However, Big Phil, who suffered a shoulder injury playing for Switzerland the world cup, played the full 90 minutes.

This can only be good news for the us as the team is now looking stronger and gaining strength in depth. With Lauren and Abou Diaby still to return, things are looking very bright indeed.

I think Arsenal are starting to come good and with players like these coming back It can only get better for them !

Good news, indeed. Senderos will be superb competition for Gallas....or perhaps Gallas will be superb competition for Senderos. Im sure it will be the latter later on in this season. I really really really really hope Clichy comes good, fitness wise. If not, Arsene will have to buy an established name for LB while Traore develops.

The defensive options at our disposal is going to be quite frightening.

If Baptista cant get a game now what chance does he have when the impressive Diaby returns?
gazzap
Yeah baby. Hope this time Clichy stays fit!
Gaga
thank god, cant wait for clichy to get back so we can have gallas and toure as the main central partnership and clichy can begin to develop a relationship with rosicky. Hope clichy stays fit for a while this time.

Gazzap, Baptista will get a game all right. I'm sure Arsene Who? knows what he is doing. Plus I think Baptista is much more of that 2nd striker thing as compared to Diaby. I HATE THE *****ER THAT BROKE HIS FOOT!!!!!!!
Gaga
Clichy and Senderos' return is just what we need. It's always good to have competition for positions in the team. That's why Drogba is playing so well.

i want to see if clichy can take his chance and how he performs till the new year, and if he can't be as good as we think he is, then maybe wenger can bring in a unknown gem from a remote area of the world in january or in the summer, but i really hope that clichy takes his chance, cuz i really think he can be as good as cole, maybe even better, but i only hope that if wenger is about to bring in a new left back, then he doesent bring in the awful eric abidal..

If Clichy can stay fit then without a doubt, we will have the best defensive line in Europe. Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Clichy. We also have plenty of backup. Lauren, Djourou, Senderos and Traore as well as Song, Flamini and Bert who can also play at the back!!!!
simmy8_2000
cant wait for clichy to feature in our back four, i hope this can be the oppurtunity he needs to mature into a great player. with fellow frenchman gallas along his side i think his future looks really bright!!

Im a temporary visistor from the vital villa page -we are having a debate as to whever a new ground is a good idea (we get carried away after a big signing like chris sutton). Can you tell me if season tickets at the new ground are more expensive and how much they are typically?
tylervilla
i jus Lauren gets fit quick as well, so we have a diff option at right back.

simmy8_2000. Do you think that Eboue is a better defender than Lauren? I've always thought that playing Eboue at Right Mid. He's so good at making runs and crosses, I think it'll be worth it to give it a try...
Tugboat
when our full back line are all fit we will have QUALITY and we wil be so solid
abdleb
central defence is going to be a headache for le boss, gallas toure senderos and djorou. On the other hand hope clichy lives up to his expectation! His first appearances were OK, hope he can be our new great LB
