Wenger Hails 'Exceptional' Walcott

Arsene Wenger has praised the 'exceptional` talent of teen sensation, Theo Walcott after his stunning brace in the Under 21`s Euro qualifiers against Germany in midweek.

Walcott showed traits not to dissimilar to our very own Thierry Henry in his power, pace and finishing technique as he single-handedly dispatched his German counterparts in 13 short minutes.

Arsene Wenger is usually very very reluctant to spend big on English players after having his fingers burnt with Franny Jeffers & Jermaine Pennant, but the French god saw fit to spend a possible 12 million nicker on this awesome talent, and now we`re seeing why.

Wenger said, 'I think on Friday, in a short period of time, he has shown what he can do,'
'The first one he took well - but knowing Theo, you expect him to score. The second was sheer class - because he takes the player on, pushes again and finishes with great style in an Henry-type goal."
'He needed that. It gives him confidence and it just shows, at 17 years of age, what he is doing is exceptional."
'He is four yours younger than the players he is playing against.'
