Arsenal Duo Fit Once Again

In a week where good news has been thin on the ground, Thursday provided us with two pieces of excellent news, the first being Young Mr Fabregas and his gigantic new contract and the second being the return to action of two very important (maybe one more than the other) squad players.

In his pre-weekend press conference, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Mathieu Flamini & Phileppe Senderos both came through a reserve match unscathed and are now ready to return to first team action, although he is not sure whether or not to use them this weekend.

"Philippe Senderos and Mathieu Flamini are available again because they played in the Reserves in midweek. I don`t know if I will draft them in. I will decide that later."

He also told of no other news on the injuries front.

"We did not get any new injuries from Tuesday and Freddie Ljungberg is not quite ready yet & we have no one else coming back.'

aha!! was wondering what had happened to the flamster :) glad to know he's recovered from the injury that i didnt know (or had forgotten) that he'd had! And top news about philippe too, all of a sudden, seems like this season we have a wealth of riches at the back. Don't you just wish you could play them all at the same time? I know that Toure and Gallas are everyone's first choice central pairing, but senderos and djourou has such rich promise, that I feel it's a shame they may find their opportunities to futher their experiences limited somewhat this season. Especially Djourou - for all the lauding of senderos since he joined, Djourou was always Wenger's hidden gem and he really does look such a fine prospect. Hell, i'm just glad they are both part of the arsenal. Here's to Gael finally steering clear of injuries and revealing to everyone that Arsene knew exactly what he was doing when he hoodwinked the Oil Baron Knights into selling their best defender and exchanging him for the gael clichy prototype (failed experiment) and five million smackeroonies... »»Arsene Knows««
