Kolo Toure - Gooner Forever

Kolo Toure - Gooner Forever

Kolo Toure and his humble manner has become a legned at the North London outfit, and his desire to stay here for the rest of his career will only enhance his status.

Kolo is a firm favorite with Gooners all over the world and the fact that he wants to be an Arsenal player till his career ends means the way we Arsenal fans feel about the player will only get better.

'I can see myself staying here for the rest of my career,' Toure told The Sunday Mirror.

'Why would I want to leave? I love my football, my family is settled here and the club is ambitious. It is fantastic here.

'I have played with players who, five or six years ago, I was watching on television back in the Ivory Coast - people like Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry.'

Toure also expressed an ambiton to lead the team to bigger and better things, he knows that Henry is a great captain, but with time on his side Toure would relish the job.

'One day I would love to captain the club, Thierry is doing a fantastic job, he is a tremendous leader. But one day, yes, I would love to.'

music to a gooner's ears. king kolo will be our rock for many years to come. with the 8 year contract of fabregas, and now this declaration, and to top it off a 4-0 hammering of poor reading, all gooner's will have a smile etched on their faces for days.

posted a wee smidge about this on the forums as soon as i heard this, if there's one guy you take pride in saying this, TH14 and Fab aside, it's King Kolo The guy's got all it takes to be an Arsenal Legend. He's already long established in the hearts of all us gooners, who love his commitment, desire, ability and demeanour. How long before Kolo is acknowledged throughout europe as one of the finest central defenders around? If spirit made you rich, this guy would make Abramobeeyatch look like he shopped at Lidl's... »»Arsene Knows««

Excellent statement from an Arsenal favourite. Definitely Toure is a captain material. You're a great role model.

Im glad he's said what he's said. All the fans have earmarked him as Captain (maybe Senderos succeeding him), and its good to see the club have a similar line of thinking. Oh to be a Gooner.

Kolo is a source of pride to all African supporters of Arsenal, this ever growing intoxicated band of supporters. I applaud him for his sentments, humility and his indefatigability. I cannot wait to see him contain Drogba!!

The man is simply a class act, quicker than Terry, Carvalho, carragher and King, Stronger than ferdinand and dawson, more skilfull than90% of all CB's in the Premiership and yet he still gets no recognition. Well apart from me and the other lads at the grove who let him know he has our backing all the way. He'll go down in history with Adams, Bouldy etc as one of the best ever! He's a better human being than self centred tossers like ferdinand and Terry!
