Who Cares About Man Utd & Chelsea?

Cesc Fabregas says Arsenal's awesome performance away at Reading had nothing to do with proving our title credentials to Chelsea & Manchester United, and everything to do with correcting mistakes made in Moscow last week.

Arsenal were at their inspirational best yesterday as they made a less than ordinary Reading look about as useful as tits on a nun.

Much has been made of the performance with many suggesting that the mighty Gunners went out with a point to prove to their main rivals, but Fabregas says the only people they had anything to prove to was themselves, and of course the gaffer.

'We didn't go out there to make Manchester United and Chelsea know we are going to challenge for the title.' confirmed Fabregas

'We wanted to have a right go because the boss was worried after the result in Moscow on Tuesday when we didn't start well.'

'This time we wanted to start well and if you score a goal like that so early your opponents have to come out and that allows you a chance to break on the counter-attack.'

The teenager also expressed his happiness at the standard of play and suggests there's not a team around who could handle us when we're in that kind of mood.

'When we play like that, with Thierry and the guys in that sort of form, then I don't think there's many teams that can do anything about it,'

'The important thing is we play as a team and defend as a team and we are very happy with the performance.'

Well the may have not set out to prove a point, but you can gurantee that a performance of that calibre will make clubs all round Europe sit up and take notice.

Was Gallas sleeping out there when he gave the ball away? It won't be the last time he does it this season. After last week I think you would agree Reading weren't exactly in the right frame of mind to play a top side, but good on ya!

Show me a player that doesnt make a mistake. Henry will miss an easy chance, Cesc will give the ball away in a dangerous place, Toure will give away a penalty. It is not the mistakes that matter it's the way you make up for them!!! Hows Ashley Cole working out for you? *chortle*

There is not a footballer on the planet that doesnt make mistakes! the best ones (Henry) just make fewer than the worst ones (Bramble). Ashley seems to have made a real difference to the CFC defence, not. At this point in time Willy is 25% of the best defence in the premiership! thanks

And if Reading werent in the right frame of mind then that was probably down to The self proclaimed "special one" so thanks again!

People can say whatever, but we was told Reading were a hard nut to crack. What the hell happened then? Me thinks, it was the opposition that was too good for them.
