'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Moyes: Fab Is The Most Outstanding

On a day when the praise is coming thick and fast for the Gunners, the manager of today's opponents has taken it upon himself to heap the plaudits on Francesc Fabregas.

The little Spaniard is fast becoming held in extremely high regard all around the world, and David Moyes is no exception.

Facing the prospect of Cesc ripping into his team this afternoon, the Everton gaffer still has time to find a kind word or two about our future captain.

'In Fabregas Arsenal have got a really outstanding player - in fact one of the most outstanding players I have seen,' Moyes said.

'He has so much ability for such a young player that it's hard to believe he's only 19.'

'Wayne compares with him and I think you are just looking at a really talented, young midfield player.'

'He's unbelievable and has great maturity. The influence he has on Arsenal is incredible.'

'To be fair to the manager there he's had him in the team for two years so you have got to say Arsene Wenger is getting the benefit of blooding him early.'

'He has everything about him.'

Hand up who doesn't agree!

'Wayne compares with him' - yes, that;s the way i like it, moyes has this th e right way round - rooney measures up to fab. On a serious note, we all know how incredible fab is for his age, i just hope we all remember that the form ofpretty much all young players can fluctuate, and if this happens with fab, that we can all remember what he is capable of producing, and give the guy time and space to play himself back into his game... »»Arsene Knows««

talking of future captains, we've got about 3 in the next/current generation aside from TH14. cesc, kolo, senderos. Not a bad position to be in for the future...lions all of them, and all with good heads on their shouldrs... »»Arsene Knows««

on the topic of captains, Kolo undoubtedly is the next one after Henry. After Kolo, Senderos, surely. Cesc will pull the strings, and can make a sterling vice. But captain material?....I'd stick with Senderos, honestly. This is not detracting from Cesc's outstanding ability, mind. Does anyone feel the gunners are getting a bit too much praise, recently? We're playing bloody well, but...not a complacency ploy, per chance?

well, maybe so, but after this result today, i'm sure that the knives will be out shortly... dspite the fact we were attacking the whole of the game. »»Arsene Knows««

Cesc is good, but I notice he wasn't the one with the Hat-trick today!

I must admit to being extemely frustrated and offered a few choice words to our boys immediately after the final whistle, but having calmed down a little, are game was as good as ever, although Henry wasn't good and RVP was very wasteful, other than that we played well. It's just another case of a team having one chance and scoring.....which is getting a little annoying to say the least!

West1 - What a riduculous statement, I've always commented on your knowledge of the game, but just of late you seem to either have lost your knowledge of the game or are always here on the wind up. For one you can compare the status of a player based on one game, and point two, you would have to be a complete moron not to realise that Rooney is a striker whilst Fabregas is a midfielder, a playmaker and not a goal scorer. Please go back to how you used to be.

What a player

Cesc is levelheaded and has his feet on the ground. That alone makes him all the more special.

Yeah, and if he wants even more material for levelling his head, have him read up on a certain Nicholas Anelka. Anelka was a young thing, about Fab's age now, did wonderful things at Arsenal, and while he ought to be peaking now at 27, he is singing Phil Collins' "Take a Look At Me Now" (only PC was happy with where he was!).
Head Levelling stuff, that.
