Djourou Ready To Fight For His Place

After revealing the details of his shiney new 6 year deal, Johan Djourou has told how the fight for a team place between him and Phileppe Senderos can only be a good thing.

Djourou, who his manager famously told the press to forget about after he originally signed for the Gunners, has an old head on his young and talented shoulders, as expressed in his latest comments.

'It's up to me to show in training I deserve to play.' Said the Swiss centre back.

'William Gallas and Kolo are there as well and as a young player I have to show I'm ready to play, so Philippe coming back is putting extra pressure on me and it's a good thing.'

'It's very good to play at the top level because it's a good competition, but with Gallas and Toure around you can learn from them. They're fantastic team-mates.'

i know. listen to a chavski fan, and we're skint with our days in the past. browse through the arsenal squad, with half an ounce of noddle about you, and it's as clear as day the vast potential of this current crop of young players that wenger has gathered and is in the process of developing and giving experience to... good be a gooner, for sure.
