Arsene In No Rush For New Contract

Before fans of rival clubs jump in head first without looking, Arsene Wenger is NOT saying he doesn't want to sign a new contract, indeed the quotes below are the very same words he used last time he was due to sign a contract.

And did he sign? You bet your arse.

Le Boss is not one to rush things, he is contracted to us for another 18 months and has much more important things to worry about.

"I am here until 2008, I was told the average life of a manager in the Championship is one year and 11 days so it's a very long time for me to go.' he said.

"At the moment I am happy and first I want to see how far I can go. I am confident I can go very far with the new team I have here. So that's a really minor problem for me at the moment."

Indeed if anyone thinks he has no intention of resigning when the time comes, ask yourself this question;

Do you believe he would have persuaded Fabregas, Henry, Toure & Djourou to sign very long term contracts if he had no intention of staying himself?

Don't be silly.
