Gilbert Wants Cardiff Stay

Arsenal 'loanee' Kerrea Gilbert has indicated that he would rather stay in Cardiff than return to Arsenal at the end of the season.

Gilbert got a taste of first team action last season after the Gunners suffered numerous defensive injuries, and it appears to be a taste that will not fade anytime soon.

The England under 19's international was sent on loan in the summer to gain first team action, but seemingly being behind, Eboue, Lauren & Justin Hoyte in the pecking order, Gilbert now wishes to remain at Cardiff.

'My heart is with Cardiff now and having been here for three months I really like the place and the people here. But we will see what happens at the end of the season. said Gilbert.

However, premiership football could also be a stumbling block if Cardiff fail to get promoted.

'Cardiff and Arsenal will talk then, but playing in The Premiership with Cardiff does appeal to me.'

this worries me - i see this guy as a terrific prospect and a challenger to manu eboue, even. When he plyed for the first team last season, he showed heart spirit and skill, I'd much rather he came back to fight for a place... this kid's got a real future, in my eyes... »»Arsene Knows««

I really think he's a good player, and I hope he does stay with us as he has a lot of potential, but if he does leave we still have eboue, Lauren and Hoyte anyway. I think Kerrea will stay with us though if he has any sence!
