Hleb Scoops Belarussian Gong

Arsenal's Alex Hleb has been voted Belarussian player of the the year.

Hleb picks up the award for the fourth time, equalling a record set by Sergei Gotsmanov, a record that Hleb will surely break.

Al' has been an all round good egg and top quality player since moving to the Gunners and can only be described as 'an effing good player'

Hleb is the second Arsenal player to scoop his nations top award after Freddie Ljungberg was named Swedish Player Of The Year.

Congratulations, very well deserved.

can;t say that i am too knowledgable about belarussian footy, but i imagine that if they had a few more players like hleb, they'd be a much more prominent force in european football, so I'm not surprised that he's won it, or that it's the fourth time he's done so. but then, like i said, i don't knwo too much about it, i might be completely ignorant about the fact that they do! »»Arsene Knows««

congratulations...who's next ?????
ernshaw
I'd guess at Thierry Henry, Tomas Rosicky, Kolo Toure & Manu Adebayor

drogba will win the ivory coast, touré's not even up for african player!!! wtf???? and togo hate adebayor... rosicky defo...
theking13
how about the one, the only... ladies and gentlemen, i give you jens lehmann - german footballer of the year!!! has to be, surely. »»Arsene Knows««
Wingston75
kolo is not up for ivorian player of the year???? or do the ivory coast not have one? maybe it's just african plyer of the year... but still, the guy is a rock. when is he gonna get the credit he deserves??? »»Arsene Knows««
Wingston75
To be honest Wingers, as longs as he's happy being a gooner and continues his sterling work, I'm sure we and he, won't be too botherd!
Rocky7
true enough, rock, i'd just love the guy to get his dues. But you know, i also like the fact that it feels like we're the only ones that know we've got one of the best central defenders in the world. The best kept secret syndrome. As Arseblogger put it, one rio ferdinand would buy you 120 kolo toures...
Wingston75
I'm actually very shcoked at the lack of activity from the big boys with regards to Toure. Surely every team in the world should be scrambling to try and sign him. He would easily walk into ANY starting line up in the world, and that is not an exageration.
Rocky7
Has that got something to do with the fact that kolo does not want to go anywhere, and has said so, loud and clear? otherwise the big boys would have asked, surely. but its good for us that there is no activity. Best kept secret!! well said, wingston.

Lehmann surely, for german player of the year!! Rosicky looks good too. When are the rest of the awards being announced?
prits
Good for him!!!
