Thierry Henry - Not Very Clever

Thierry Henry has admitted that his third yellow card picked up against Hamburg 'wasn't very clever' and puts it down to frustration on the pitch.

Henry was walking the tightrope of ridiculous decisions in both ties against CSKA Moscow saw him one card away from suspension. His first card for scoring a goal.....Weird eh!!

However, the captain accepts his suspension and say's it's just one of those things.

'I concede that the booking I picked up wasn't very clever,' admitted Henry.

'It was the result of frustration, but I'm not making excuses - I deserved the yellow card. And of course I am disappointed to be out of the Porto game.'

'The two yellow cards I picked up against CSKA were not bookings and in fact the first card, well, not only did the ref rule out a perfectly good goal, he booked me for handball! What can you do?'

'Sometimes these things happen in football and I just had to accept the suspension. We showed great character to come back and win against Hamburg which leaves us in a good position to qualify.'

But still top scorer for four out of the last five seasons. What you wouldn't give for that eh!!!!

hard luck titi, but we'll still qualify as group winners and as for this saturday, another goal of the season is on it's way vs the scums..

Porto beat CSKA in their own backyard, they are certainly not mugs and looking at how the teams match up in the other groups, all teams will be going all out to top their group. Arsenal are unfortunate in that CSKA are travelling to a team who have zero to play for and again lost at the weekend. It could well be that the catalogue of misses against CSKA will come back to haunt you. Personally I'd rather you'd go through but the action of Henry was fundamentally unprofessional. He was aware he was on 2 yellows and no matter how much he complains that they were not deserved, it is still what is officially recorded. To then get booked for a stupid challenge in a nothing part of the pitch is downright daft.

Still choosing games, tut tut.

I have a feeling that Hamburg will get a point v Moscow, and that will be enough. However we can't rely on other people's results and must go over to Porto to win. If we sit back and look for the draw, we will get beat.
Rocky7
yes, ive got a feelinh hamburg may wee take points off moscow aswell, i really hope they do becuase its going to be one tense and tough night over in portugal.

lol sir harry, forget the champions league for the moment, and talk about this weekend, thierry may not be clever, thierry misses tough away games, thierry doesen't play well when the game gets physical, thierry keeps whining about little things, he is not as good as everyone says he is, but he loves tearing spurs apart at home, so be prepared for yet another reality check this saturday..
luckys_10
Good luck to Thierry on winning the Ballon D'or...oh hang on :)))
HATEtheGOONS
when uve got a player that comes close to winning it come back and post something. In fact when when someone gains more champions league experience than a squirrel whilst at your club come back and post something.

********* that the CSKA yellow can't be oover ruled. When will they look at the governing bodies and chage ridiculous rules like that. On those types of rules OJ Simpson would have been hanged ???
SydneyGooner
haha cokey, my point is you'll never beat us, and keep counting, it's been 45 years and you're still waiting..
luckys_10
