'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reyes Wants Arsenal Return

Jose Antonio Reyes has stated he would relish a return to the mighty Arsenal.

No, no, no, don't worry, he just means he hopes Real Madrid draw Arsenal in the next round of the Champions League.

'It would be a beautiful game between two teams that play good football.' said the ex-Gooner.

'I would really like it. Everyone likes to play at Arsenal's ground.'

It would see a carbon copy of last seasons first round knockout stage where the mighty Arsenal eliminated the not-so mighty Real Madrid after Arsenal became the first English team to win at the Bernabeau.

i do wonder if the boy is missing something in his toolbox.. " everyone likes to play at arsenal ?" erm yeah cos he has right ? and as he is on loan, he is not permitted to play against us ! what a muppet !
PUREGOLD
I believe (correct me if i'm worng) that you ARE permitted to play againt your employers in the CL, the ruling is in the PL only. See Morientes knock out Madrid a few years ago.
Rocky7
I believe you to be correct R7. If we draw them he will have to bring his mummy with him, wouldnt want him getting homesick now would we?!
iceman10
I bet we get them or Barca. the chance for revenge always comes around sooner than you think.
gazzap
I thought it was decided between the clubs whether or not your own 'loanees' could play against you. Didn't Hoyte play againsty us for Sunderland in the PL last season?
Parano!d
only in the PL can you prevent your player playing against you
mish
It is a mixture of the both. A clubs loaned player can play against you in the CL, and it is down to the disgretion of the loan contract given by the club to allow him (or not) to play aginast them in the PL.
h57ben
lets hope he gets his wish and let toure and billy teach him a thing or two about playing in england and at arsenal, just like the neville sisters did two years ago..
luckys_10
its up to the contract offered wheather the player can play against his own club.
ArsenalRob
bet he's missing all u gay boys, and i bet u miss him too - coz the 'beast' isnt a bad player is he..... maybe u should write him a letter and spray it with ur britney spears perfume
gabotheyido
thats hilarious yido, do you do stand up? coz you should. your stuff is witty, creative and very original. you ooze with intelligence wow...more please
mish
i think he's maybe trying to resolve the ill feelings between the fans...personally i think hees a very good player...never shone in england...apart from that screecher against chelsea which i will never forget... bt now is hitting in 25 yard free kicks with his RIGHT foot 4 real....a good talent but better off in spain....as i feel is baptista...bt werl wait and see
sammylash
gabotheyido's standup is about as funny as Michael Richard's. As far as Reyes goes I think he'd just like to experience two matches as exciting as the Arsenal/Madrid double last year, especially the Highbury game which was one of the best I've ever seen. And let's face it, there are no soft touches in the round of 16...so you might as well wish for your dream match in the first round. I've got a feeling we'll draw Barca though...and that wouldn't bother me at all.
Shinobi
I'm pretty sure he can play. Think he'll want to do something similar to what Morientes did to Real Madrid a couple of years ago at Monaco.
getintoem
In the CL it's up to the employers. In the PL it is no longer permitted to face your parent club. It used to be at the clubs discretion, but then Chelsea demanded a rule change. (Surprise, surprise).
Little Dutch
Seems to be happily settled at the Bernabeu.
sandgroanun
if we played against him all we have to do is make sure one of our players gives him a mighty whack, and then he will go back into his shell, sorted
fran merida
PureGold is a muppett as is Reyes! he needs to pipe down and start playing well if he wants a move to Madrid!!
BaldyYid
I guess some fans could harbor some ill feelings toward Reyes. Personally, I don't hold anything because he never really had anything against the club, he just couldn't settle into the premier league or England. And he's doing well in Spain. And remember how surprised he was about Cole's accusation about the lack of team spirit and said there were never any problems in the dressing room. But of course if we were to face Real, we know who the winner will be. ;)
ducksworth
Will he get a warm welcome?
