The Gallas Mystery

William Gallas suffered an injury with the last kick off the ball in training in November and has not played since.

Only yesterday Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger said that Billy had a small chance of facing Portsmouth at the weekend, but now Gallas himself has said he has no idea when he will be back.

Firstly, speaking about tonights trip to Wigan, Wenger said, "We have Kolo back, but he's the only one from Sunday. Gallas is still out, Henry is out but Rosicky looks very, very promising and has a small, small chance for the weekend. Gallas too, maybe."

And today Gallas said, 'Unfortunately, I don't even know when I will come back, the medical staff hasn't informed me and I don't even know.'

'They told me I would miss four weeks minimum but I don't know if I will play until the New Year.'

He then went on to talk about how he missies football in general.

'It is something very hard for me. I don't like to be injured, I was feeling very good, fit. It is a stupid injury that happened at the end of a training session, but I knew it was grave.'

'I miss football, I miss the pitch, the atmosphere and I have missed three derbies, that is difficult to live with. I try to be mentally strong, that is why I don't go to see the matches.'

Lets hope this all gets cleared up very soon by the sight of Billy in a red and white shirt giving his all at Ashburton Grove (or where ever we are playing)

No doubt the CFC press room will release a statement on our behalf on how he is refusing to play!

Lol - You can gurantee Merlin will be here any minute calling him 'Silly Billy' and pretending like they dont miss him!!
Rocky7
No, we do miss him. And we dont call him Silly Billy either. ; )
OLASAL
Hey Olasal - Here in place of Merlin I see. Nice attempt at sarcasm :P
Rocky7
No, we really do miss him as a player. Really we do.

i thought there was a news haedline about a week after he got injured saying, gallas set for quick recovery ??, im a bit baffled. I would really love our full strength line up again soon, forgot how good we can play.
hazzagooner
and i bet the scandal will be here was playing five-a-side with henry in his side, they had a few french words and gallas then went and scored an own goal on purpose, which was his last kick of the game as Henry came over, head butted him like all good french players do and thats how he got his neck injury and thats why both players are out and don't know WHEN Wenger will pick them again because he is so cross !
PUREGOLD
Confusing, two different stories, I'll go with wenger's and hope he is back soon.

To add to the CFC delegation, we DO miss Willy and you are lucky to have him! Sounds a bit mysterious though, non?
Westl
they all seem to get upset when theyy miss the derbies....
ernshaw
Maybe the news agencies are being a bit mischevious and re-hashing quotes from earlier in his injury?!?!
Rocky7
Billy is certainly being missed. The gravity of his injury was never fully understood that it would take him this long for him to come back on the pitch. Hope, this is cleared soon.

A worrying blow at this time of year to say the least!
sandgroanun
yeah but its giving our others lads at the back some valuable learning experience and helping them get match fit

I know a lot of people voiced concerns that we had too many centre backs and they wouldn't get enough games. It just proves the value of a big squad and watching Djourou develop has been very worthwhile.
