Poom Extends His Stay

Sunderland goalkeeper, Mart Poom, has extended his loan deal with Arsenal till the end of the season, effectively ending his Sunderland career as his contract runs out in the summer.

Arsenal originally signed Poom when Jens Lehmann was susspended for a game in the Champions League and Almunia was out through injury.

Although Poom has yet to feature for the first team, Arsene Wenger sees him as ideal cover for the rest of the season.

Poom will travel to Doncaster for the Carling Cup quarter final tomorrow.
