Losing Is Not An Option

If we are to avoid another tense finish to this a campaign such as last season, stand in captain Gilberto says losing to Charlton on Tuesday is not an option.

As much fun as it was to see the tiny totts defecating their shorts on the last day of the season, and the exciting aspect of the game is one thing that keeps us coming back for more, I'm not sure my ticker could handle another climax such as that.

Gilberto certainly wants to avoid that situation.

'We have Charlton at home on Tuesday night and it is a very important game for us,' he said. 'We cannot afford to drop points in this game because we need to get into a better position.' said Ernie's mate.

'In the situation we are in every game is very important to us and we cannot afford to lose games like we did on Saturday. If we are not 100 per cent and help each other we will find it hard.'

'At the moment it is very competitive for the Champions League places. It is difficult because we are very close with Bolton, Liverpool and Portsmouth. It will be a fight but we need to do the best we can.'

'I don't know if it is good or bad to have another game so soon but we have no time to complain about the number of games, we just to carry on, move on and do our best.'

'It has been hard for us because we have a lot of injured players at the moment. We have tried to do our best without them and we will see what we can do on Tuesday.'

Time to launch the 'Gilberto for captain' campaign?
simmy8_2000
While I would much prefer to see Bert captain, launching a campaign to see him installed as skipper would be seriously detrimental to the relationship between Henry & the fans.
Rocky7
I wasn't serious...you ******* northerner's. :p
simmy8_2000
Still drinking Simmo? It's not love you know!!!
Rocky7
:D I'm not but I think I'm still a little bit pished...
simmy8_2000
hahaha what about mad jens as the skipper? surely that will make him stay in da summer :d..

I have always been the biggest of Jens Lehmann fans, but his time is drawing to a close. And comments from Craig Gordon saying he would play for anyone should they come in for him lead me to believe we really should put in an offer!!
Rocky7
Chelsea have been linked with Gordan today. I haven't seen anything of him. What do you know about him?
simmy8_2000
yeah me too, never even heard of him before..
luckys_10
I've heard the name but I know sweet FA about him.
simmy8_2000
Scotlands national keeper, excellent shot stopper and great athelte, and still young. A reckon 3-4 million should do it!!
Rocky7
How does he do with crosses/set pieces?
simmy8_2000
He seems pretty cool under pressure. He had some pretty unfair critisism aimed at him in the recent game over Hibs. Sheils scored a penner for Hibs past Gordon and ran straight upto the keeper and pushed him forcfully to the floor where stayed down for a while. Shiels was sent off and many people said he made a meal of it, but to me it looked as though the players knee caught his head as he went to ground.

Boruc is much better. And don't write off Jens just yet.

can u put up the poll about who do gooners think should be captain?

Suspect Gilberto would have said the same thing before Sheffield, but don't forget, Arsene still says the title is a realistic target!

I like this comment from the stand in skipper. That militancy and all conquering spirit has to embody the team till the last whistle of this season.
