Wenger To Do Pardew 'Stokes Favour'?

Wenger To Do Pardew 'Stokes Favour'?

Even after everything that has gone on between Arsene Wenger & Alan Pardew, it seems the Arsenal boss may still be willing to do his new 'friend' a favor.

Anthony Stokes has revealed that his loan with Falkirk has not been renewed, even though after scoring 14 goals in 18 games in the SPL the club would certainly like to keep him on.

Wenger has since revealed the possibility of loaning the young striker to Charlton, which is probably a move to see how he can perform in the Premiership rather than doing Pardew a favor.

However, Wenger also claims he will not stand in the way should Stokes wish to stay in Scotland.

'I would not be against Stokes at Charlton but it depends on him," said Wenger. I have had no request from Charlton until now.'

'I certainly won't force him to come back [from Falkirk]. He will benefit from one year in the SPL in the first team. Then he will be in a stronger position to come back and say he wants to play in the first team. It is like Nicklas Bendtner at Birmingham City. Go out for a year then let's see how good you are."

So maybe Pardew's offer of a handshake has nothing to with a truce, more of what he can gain :P

I really hope he goes to Charlton for a couple of reasons. 1) It will be a big test for him 2) To see what Pardew says about him at the end of the season i.e would he blame Stokes if Charlton went down or would he praise him (and the mighty Arsenal as a result) if Charlton stay up?

i actually like pardew, the whole thing between him and wenger was anothing, a heat of the moment thing, and along time ago now in football terms, its only us fans and media that bring it up.. i think pardew is a good manager. still think charlton should go down though :P and i hope stokes ddoes well where ever he should go .

For any Gooner to criticise the conduct of another manger is absolutely hilarious not to mention ridiculous. Open your eyes. Your boss is an arrogant, bad loser. Oh yeah, and he also lies a lot. :-)

Jacky B: a. if u support the chavs or manure u should be ashamed of your comments ;) b. if u support any other team, your manager is probably a graceful, honest trophyless manager who is so used to losing that he doesn't even care, so every time you lose he's jolly good ready for a pint & banter - a trait has transcended to the fans such as you :) c. and then there is Rafa Benitez (?!)

What about win with grace, lose with grace G4L? I agree that you win nothing for being sporting, but i'd rather not if it means sulking every time we taste defeat. You got so used to winning on that massive unbeaten streak, you simply cannot accept defeat. Cry babies.

This puts you in category b. Maybe we got used to winning as you say and perhaps that is the reason why taking a defeat hurts us more than the average Chris Coleman (who I really like) and maybe that is why sometimes both the players and manager display a sign of a BAD losers. Nothing new I say, so shut up.

Must have touched a nerve. You obviously dont like to talk about it. All i am trying to say is that the posts above (for the most part) suggest that Pardew was in the wrong regarding his altercation with Wenger. It was not the first or the last time that Wenger or your players have acted in that way. Just cause you have been getting away with it for ages does not make it right. Wait until you have got something to moan about you idiot. btw YID ARMY!
