Arsenal Defender Joins Brighton

Arsenal youngster Joe O'Cearuill has joined Brighton and Hove Albion on a one-month loan deal.

Arsenal signed the young defender in the summer after having him on loan from Watford for the second half of last season.

O'Cearuill, 19, started his career at Leyton Orient but he failed to impress as a trainee and he was released. Watford took him on the same summer but the young Englishman (that`ll please Pardew) only spent half the season there before Arsene Wenger brought him to Arsenal.

Released by Watford in the summer of 2006, his career seemed like it was down in the gutter when Arsenal snapped him up. He has gone on to establish himself as a regular in Neil Banfield`s reserves this season.

Joe is fast, well built and strong in the tackle.

Arsenal have given him permission to play in cup games so he could make his debut against Premiership side West Ham at the weekend.

I cannot stop laughing at Pardew now. He has managed to turn a one match ban into two matches for making a "frivolous" appeal. He had already admitted it was a foul so this has really shown him up for the moron he is!! On top of the additional ban they should have ordered Pardew to read the rules of the game before commenting in future as he clearly doesn't know them!!

It's not his fault, when he saw the incident he just saw Van Persie jump from a third floor window, in an offside position and land on his feet before proceeding to roll around like he had been shot. Then, without thinking Pardew started shouting "Engerland, Engerland, Engerland" Then complaining to the ref...

going back to the original piece, it is an unusual loan deal, a one month loan seens a trifle brief for JO'C to show his mettle in first team lague football... »»Arsene Knows««

We'll take good care of him. It's a good club for him to be at as most of our first team squad is under 23. We've already had a few promising players for the future with us in the past year or so. Anyone seen him play before?

I've seen him play in the reserves once ben, he looked pretty solid.
