'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pires Set For New Year Talks

Arsenal's left winger, Robert Pires, is set for new year crunch talks with Arsene Wenger.

Pires has long since made his feelings known about his desire to finish his career at Arsenal, but with Wenger only offering one year extentions to players over 30, Pires is quite prepared to play his football elsewhere.

'I have a meeting planned with Arsene Wenger in the next few days,' he told The Sun.

'I don't know what will come of it but we'll see what the future holds.

'If I am to stay I will do so with great pleasure. If not then I'll try elsewhere.

'What I want is to play, even though I'm on the bench at the moment.'
